HOW TO SAFELY SOCIALIZE DURING A PANDEMIC & WORK ON SELF DEVELOPMENT!
Hello loves!
Thanks for tuning into this weeks blog post!
We will be talking about the importance of spending time with your loved ones and how to spend time alone during the COVID-19 pandemic!
Alright, lets get into it!
With COVID-19 the restrictions of having to self isolate, social distance, and not spend as much time in person, has taken a toll on many of us. Although the restrictions vary depending on where you live, there are lots of other ways to still interact with the people you love, if they live outside of your household. The pandemic has also given us more time than ever to spend time alone and allow for reflection, and exploring other methods of communication.
5 Ways to socialize from a safe distance, or within your household during COVID-19:
- If you live with others in your home, try and spend time with them by putting away the phones, and interacting with one another. In todays world technology has taken so much of our time, and has caused us to be less and less interactive with one another even though we may be in the same physical space. You can play boardgames together, talk about world topics, play video games and so much more! The possibilities are truly endless.
- Depending on where you live, if your choose to gather in small groups of your circle, do so safety by social distancing and wearing masks. It may be very tempting to not abide by the measures put in place to stop the spread of COVID-19, however this can save lives! We have all seen the horrors and deaths that COVID-19 has caused all over the world. This has been truly tragic, so please, if you do decide to gather, do so safely and within the restrictions that your city or Town has put in place. Do not break the restrictions!
- Skype or FaceTime a Friend or Family member. Check in on your loved ones, and pick up the phone and FaceTime them (not all technology divides us). FaceTiming can be so amazing because it allows your to actually speak to someone, see their face, and the best part is you can actually see their expressions that are not hidden by a mask! FaceTiming allows you to speak to your loved one from the safety of your own home, and be able to see their smiles, laughs, and their expressions. This is something that I know many of us miss and do not get to see due to wearing masks. Hopefully we can get to a place again soon where we will be able to see others smiles and the COVID-19 pandemic will be over soon! For now, wear your masks and stay safe!
- Keep it old school, pick up the phone and call or text your Friends and loved ones. Texting and calling is also a great way to communicate and perfect for those who may not have wifi or access to the internet. This is also great for Seniors such as Grandparents who may not have internet access as well. A phone call can really brighten someones day!
- Send an email or write a letter. This is super old school, but always a classic and cute way to interact. Writing an email or mailing a letter is such an original and fun way to communicate with the people you care about. Imagine checking your mailbox and seeing a handwritten letter from a cousin or Friend. Such a surprise, and just a really kind and nice gesture.
Ways to socialize without Friends or Family. Also, self reflection and development:
- If you don’t necessarily have people you consider close Friends or Family, you can join online conversations such as blog posts that spark your interest! This is a great way to interact with other people who may have the same interest as you, and a chance to still be social and engage with others. Some examples are sources such as Reddit or Quora.
- Listen to podcasts or audiobooks. This is an amazing way to listen to books or words or wisdom from Authors or people you admire. There are so many interesting podcasts and audiobooks that you can find online for free! Its the same as reading a physical book, but you can play it in the background when you complete chores, take a shower, or driving in your car! You can check out sources like audible, YouTube, or Spotify podcasts
- Watching YouTube videos. We all know, and most of us love Youtube! It's easy to find videos that we can relate to or that spark our interest online! Youtube is such an amazing platform that allows many of us to find videos from people all over the world who inspire and stimulate our craving for entertainment! The best part is that you can leave your comments in the section of the YouTube channels video and read what others are saying as well.
- Journaling or writing down your feelings and thoughts. If your feeling up to doing some self reflection or soul searching, journaling can be a powerful tool to aid you on a reflective journey, The best part is journaling is private and is only for your eyes only! Feel free to write down anything that comes to mind and whatever sets your soul free.
- Meditating and finding what draws your attention. Meditation is something most of us have heard about, have you ever explored it before? Once you find the type of meditation that resonates with you it can be a powerful tool to help you find inner peace and allow you to quiet your mind in this busy world. You can start with guided meditations on YouTube and even explore books or podcasts that can help you learn about meditation and all the benefits.
- Positive affirmations can be a powerful tool in boosting self confidence and esteem. On out Instagram on Sundays we post positive affirmations! This is so important to us because we believe what you say out loud to yourself, your brain will start to believe it. Positive affirmations can be done at anytime of day and you can make your own which resonate with you! This is a powerful tool to help gain confidence in yourself and become the best version of you.
That’s all we have for this week! We hope you enjoyed this blog post and safely spend time with your loved ones or Friends, and also to learn more about yourself and become the best version of you.
