FEEL CONFIDENT, THANKFUL & HOW TO LIVE IN THE PRESENT!
Often times with the society we live in today, there is constant pressure surrounding us. Social media and the frequent comparisons to others can make a lot of people feel down about themselves. We must remember that not everything that we see, is exactly how it appears to be. For example, we may compare ourselves to someone else who appears to be very "happy" and "living their best life" online, but do we really know the challenges or circumstances that the person who we admire has faced? Probably not.
It's very easy to judge and assume that the other person may be living in the "perfect world" but perfection does not truly exist. Take a moment to think of yourself. Do you show the struggles or deep rooted personal issues that you have experienced online? On your social media? Most people would say no, as they can be personal and cause us to become vulnerable. We all have our own challenges we face, some are hidden, and some we share with a few close friends or Family members.
With this being said, we must learn to take the time to be thankful for what we have in our own lives. When you show gratitude and self love to yourself daily, you realize that you may have more to be thankful for than you had accounted for.
Here are some tips for self gratitude and learning to truly appreciate and be thankful for what you have.
1. Take a moment to yourself in the morning, and think of 3 things that you're thankful for. This should be done before you reach for your phone or turn on any electronic devices.
2. Right when you wake up do not look at social media. Start your day with focusing on you, your life, and any goals you want or hope to accomplish.
3. Practice deep breathing exercise to ground yourself, and realize that you only have control of the present moment. The past no longer serves you as you cannot change it. The future is yet to come, so there is no need to worry. All you have is the now. Enjoy it, love it, be present in it, face it.
4. Set goals for yourself for your day so you have structure to follow. This way you can also track your progress to see if you've achieved them or are taking the steps to work towards them.
5. Be thankful for what you have. Although many of us want more then what's in front of us, there is always someone else who may be wanting exactly what you have in front of you.
Remember you are your own kind of beautiful and you create your own reality! Enjoy your journey and make the best of it!
